Second day of the Tianguis Turístico 2024 Acapulco; yes, we did it: Miguel Torruco
On the second day of activities at the Tianguis Turístico 2024, Miguel Torruco Marqués, Mexico's Secretary of Tourism, said that five months after Hurricane Otis devastated the port, today it was possible, said the federal official, recognizing the work of all those who participated.
He explained that on the first day, Monday, April 8, in addition to the unveiling of the bust of Alexander von Humboldt, historic German explorer and scientist, considered the first German tourist to visit Acapulco, there were other activities such as the well-known Captains' Dinner.
"We had a dinner with all the national and international operators in what is called the Captains' Dinner and now this Tuesday morning, we are holding meetings with the tourism associations and secretaries of tourism of other states, with Conagua, with the assembly of Sectur," he said.
He commented that they are also touring the pavilions and noted that most of the pavilions of the 32 Mexican entities have state-of-the-art technology designs, very modern, and he is very pleased about that. "It was possible to achieve this, after the situation looked very difficult", he emphasized.
He explained that as of April 6, there are 1,337 buyers, 787 companies participating, 43 nations and 952 exhibitors, 1,377 companies and 32 states.
"Five months after the port of Acapulco was devastated, today it is possible and can be achieved when there is the will of all sectors of the three levels of government, the private sector and the strength of the people of Guerrero and Acapulco, anything can be done," he reiterated.
The ribbon cutting and inauguration of Tianguis Turístico 2024 will take place on Wednesday, April 10, when participants and buyers will be able to enter the venue, at Expo Mundo Imperial, where there are 97 pavilions.
