Tianguis Turístico México Acapulco 2024 is inaugurated

After months of waiting, the Tianguis Turístico México Acapulco 2024 was inaugurated on Tuesday, April 9. Evelyn Salgado Pineda, Governor of Guerrero, during her speech at the opening ceremony, stressed that the destination is renewed and welcomes all tourists, visitors and participants of the event, as a phoenix resurgence.

"Today Acapulco welcomes you with a renewed spirit, with the energy that can only be obtained when you are reborn like the phoenix, with all that spirit, with all that momentum, and with the certainty that the future of Acapulco and Guerrero is one of hope and well-being," he said.

From the auditorium of the Forum Mundo Imperial, Miguel Torruco Marqués, Mexico's Secretary of Tourism, emphasized that this event is the most important tourism fair in Latin America.

"We have worked hand in hand with the three levels of government, with private initiative, citizenship to achieve in a short time the rebirth of our beloved Acapulco, thanks to the strength of its inhabitants so that Acapulco is standing and ready to be an international destination that we all desire," he said during his speech.

He recalled that in the current federal government six editions of this great event have been organized. He detailed that in 2019 it was held in Acapulco, in 2020 the pandemic fell but it was not cancelled, it was virtual, in 2021 it was held in Merida but with two modalities, face-to-face and virtual, in 2022 it returned to Acapulco, while in 2023 it was in Mexico City and this 2024 it was reborn in Acapulco.

Also present at the event were Santos Ramírez Cuevas, Secretary of Tourism of Guerrero; Abelina López Rodríguez, Mayor of Acapulco; Mara Lezama, Governor of Quintana Roo; Layda Sansores, Governor of Campeche; Carlos Merino Campos, Governor of Tabasco; Salomón Hara Cruz, Governor of Oaxaca; Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado, President of the Association of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico and Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit, among others.
