In line with the strategy of making the professionalization of the sector a constant in this administration, Secretary Josefina Rodriguez inaugurated the seminar and conference program.

The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, inaugurated the "Dialogue of Captains of Industry" at the Tianguis Turístico 2025, a space for conversation where industry leaders held a panel on the FIFA 2026 World Cup and another on the importance of promoting community-based tourism.

Within the new modality of the greatest tourism festival in the Americas, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) said that, unlike past editions, this year a space for inclusive dialogue was opened, in which members of the sector, private initiative and representatives of the three levels of government can strengthen ties of cooperation to continue making this activity: the sector of good news.

He added that the 49th edition of the Tianguis Turístico was a meeting where all those involved in the value chain are listened to, and where the entire population is involved.

In welcoming the panel A World Cup for All, Rodriguez Zamora recalled that this high-impact international sporting event will have billions of spectators in more than 190 countries, with the participation of 48 teams, and for the first time in the history of the World Cup, a country is three times Venue of this sporting event.

He emphasized that the objective of this panel is to show the work that each state is doing to diversify tourism during the World Cup, as well as to showcase its natural, cultural and gastronomic wealth.

Recalling that it is estimated that more than 5 million tourists will arrive in our country in just one month, he assured that Mexico City, Nuevo Leon and Jalisco have the necessary infrastructure, capacity and geographic location.

The panel included the participation of Mexico's government representative for the organization of the 2026 Fifa World Cup, Gabriela Cuevas Barrón; the Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico City, Jalisco and Nuevo León, Alejandra Frausto Guerrero, Michelle Fridman Hirsch and Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, respectively, as well as journalist Edgar Valero.

On the other hand, the Undersecretary of Tourism, Sebastián Ramírez Mendoza, headed the panel Community Tourism: nature, communities and living cultures, where he endorsed the commitment of the administration of the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, to promote a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable tourism management model.

He pointed out the importance of strengthening tourism managed by the resident communities, with a leadership role in the generation and administration of the destination's tourism offer, integrating their identity, culture, gastronomy and traditions.

The above, he said, diversifies Mexico's offer; generates a multiplier effect of benefits in communities and municipalities with lagging municipal and state services; provides capacities for the conservation of biocultural environments; and expands financial inclusion for all in areas with a high degree of social backwardness.

In addition, as part of the activities of Tianguis Turístico 2025 and in line with the strategy of making the professionalization of the sector a constant in this administration, Secretary Josefina Rodríguez inaugurated the program of seminars and conferences.

He highlighted the rich program of keynote lectures that will be presented during the Tianguis Turístico, including: "Mayakaan, a model of sustainable community tourism in Quintana Roo", with Zendy Euan Chan, director of Tourism of the Municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Román Caamal, general manager of Community Tours Sian Kaan; "Community Tourism: the future of tourism is in the countryside", with Emiliano Iturriaga, co-founder and director of Rutopía; "Boost your business with Meta tools", with Erika Álvarez Alcocer and Alejandra Aguilar Ferrer, partners of Agencias en Meta; "Tourism intelligence to identify business opportunities in tourism organizations: A look at destination Mexico", with Bianca Porto Barga, senior sales manager at Amadeus Hospitality, as well as "From Tenochtitlan to Mexico City, 700 years of building a city", with engineer Andrés Semo.
